Have the application issue intelligible passwords
Please have the app issue intelligible passwords like our previous portal system generated, such as “Goldenrod@25” or “3*greenGRASS.” People have trouble correctly reading and retyping gobbledygook like ”2dhmb@bP2dhmb@bP.,” as has become apparent as we have assisted users. Please also make sure that punctuation marks do not appear at the end of the password, as they can be misinterpreted as grammatically ending the sentence instead of as part of the password.
We need to be able to serve users with a wide range of ages, abilities, tech savvy, and patience levels. We hope you will agree that the bit of extra coding this password enhancement might require is well worth providing them a more accessible web portal.

Temporary passwords should be simple, for example an eight character word (starting with a capital letter), then a number, and then a symbol. The symbol should be one that is easily found on a smart phone keyboard's first symbol screen, such as $ ! # & = + and not confused with punctuation such as a comma or period. I'm finding some users are locking themselves out trying to understand if a character is an l I or 1.
